In 2011, I decided to completely pivot to a whole new industry.
(I know - timing probably wasn't great since it economy was still reeling from the Recession)
I joined a team that I found out was the worst team in the region...
In the worst region in the company.
I took a look into the CRM on Day 1 and found out the last rep did...
Absolutely nothing.
AKA so no pipeline.
Fortunately, I've been in worst situations and already had a prospecting plan written out.
It was 5 simple steps that I implemented religiously as at this point, I had built 4 different greenfield territories from complete scratch at my prior company.
In my first 30 days I booked over 60 meetings from complete cold outbound.
By week 5, I closed my first deal. (It was a small $13K deal)
By week 12, I had closed 20 new logo deals totaling $500K.
And I had generated over $2M in qualified pipeline that I estimated would close in the next fiscal.
People in my region were shocked. They had rarely seen someone come in with this level of intensity, focus, and results.
Especially in a small market like Portland. (Not a bigger West Coast market like Seattle or San Francisco.)
This was 80% more production than the average rep was doing across the org.
