Almost Fired in Retiring at 35

I grew up being terrible at most things.

I didn't start speaking until I was 4 and then had speech therapy classes for years.

My parents thought I was "special" and not in a good way.

Any sport I picked up?

I sucked at.

From school to sports, EVERYTHING always felt harder for me while my peers seemed to naturally pick things up.

This made me the butt of a lot of jokes growing up.

Fortunately, having zero talent ended up being a gift.

It forced me to work at increasing my skills and taught me the power of perseverance.

For instance, when I started in B2B sales, I sucked terribly.

I was the worst rep on my team to the point of almost getting fired.

This forced me to adapt and learn the skills to become successful.

This was something I shared recently with a friend, Chris Bogue.

I shared how I was able to take these early learnings and apply it to my sales career.

Even to the point of learning how to "brainwash" myself to think "successfully."

Even in the worst times in my life.
